In reviewing this topic this week I have come across a host of services that provide web conferencing all of them report being easy to use. However few actually discuss the queslity of the product for the viewing audience:
www.gotomeeting.com
www.megameeting.com
www.web-conferencing-central.com
Although we are working on a group project we have not used this environment to communicate I do wonder about the stability of the platform and it's ability to perform across multiple operating systems. I think I will propose to my group they we engage in one of these free trials and see if the software is as easy to use as they suggest and if it helps.

That's amazing after I watch the live demo on your website provided. It can really save time and money to get together in the meeting.
But what you perviously wrote the bordband problem in your blog is really discoouraging. I cannot imagine a meeting that have to say many things several times.
Synchronous live online meetings is bigger, I dare say in the corporate world than in most of higher education. There is a greater need for synchronous web conferencing tool in universities with a higher component of distance learning. In SU, we are still struggling to acquire a webconferencing software - however, more & more faculty are clamoring for it for various teaching & research purposes. However, there are various technical issues that come with the use of such applications.
What can we do as instructional design students to learn about web conferencing? If its used in the corporate environment, and we are planning to work in that field I think that we should learn to be innovators with the technology.
My issue is being a little camera shy because I dont like the fact that someone could always be looking at me.
